”To me, Santa Ana Country Club is ahead of its time and should someday be considered a role model for future golf development in Southern California ecosystem.” – Ron Whitten, author of The Architects of Golf
Situated in the heart of Orange County, California, Jay led perhaps the most dramatic transformation of any golf in America. On just 115 acres, Jay converted a 1970s era course with waterfalls, man-made lakes and flowerbeds into a Golden Age classic that feels as if it has been there for 100 years. The project involved a complete rerouting of the course to enhance safety, utilize natural landforms, and introduce greater variety. Jay’s design reduced irrigated turf by more than 30 acres, promoting sustainability and a more natural aesthetic.
The renovation also introduced a comprehensive practice facility, including a full-length, double-ended range and dedicated areas for short game and putting. All told the transformation has led to best golf course between Los Angeles and Cabo.
