Jay played a pivotal role in bringing to life The Patriot, a collaboration between a developer and the Folds of Honor organization that helps disabled service members and their families. As part of Robert Trent Jones Jr.’s design team, Jay was the one who identified the canyons and blufftops as the ideal spot for golf and routed the course to take advantage of those natural features.
The course spans Oklahoma’s diverse landscapes, including lowland marshes, mature woodlands, upland prairies, and dramatic limestone canyons. While the canvas was beautiful, construction in the different environments was challenging and a massive flood delayed the opening. The fortitude of all involved has made the golf course that much stronger.
